First Lunar Eclipse of 2010

The first Lunar Eclipse (when the Moon moves into the shadow of Earth) of 2010 occurs on Saturday, June 26th. This is a Partial Full Moon Lunar Eclipse with the Sun in Cancer and the Moon in Capricorn. For those of us living Down Under or vacationing in the South Pacific (yes, Hawaii!) we will be able to view the entire event.

If you pay attention to the news around the time of an eclipse you will probably notice an increase in newsworthy stories. Here in Australia Prime Minister Kevin Rudd was forced to step down in favor of his deputy, Julia Gillard, creating Australia's first female leader. In the United States, General McChrystal was forced to resign as commander of the NATO-led force as President Obama chooses the new commander, General Petraeus. Sadly we watch the disaster of the Gulf of Mexico continuing to unfold. Connectivity with the Energies of 11:11:11

This Wednesday, November 11, 2009, heralds in a dynamic, rare and sacred portal of energy of 11:11:11 (November month: 11, day: 11, year: 2009- 2+9=11). To me, this means that our thoughts are manifesting instantly and is called "instant karma time". What you put out there comes right back at you! The Universe is asking us to take a conscious look at our thoughts. Think of it as taking a "snapshot" of your thoughts and a record of picture thoughts on your spirit digital camera. Reflect and ask yourself, is this what I really want? Is this who I want to be? Am I being my authentic self? Awaken your intuition and mindfully select thought pictures with your spirit digital camera features and options.

Questions to ask yourself. Do these thought pictures: Describe who I really am? Reflect an optical quality of life? Am I on auto or manual? Is my battery charged or does it need recharged? What do I see as my end result? Simplicity vs. control? What other features do I want? What is stored on my memory card? Do I have many lenses to see clearly and remain focused or am I on autofocus? What is it that I want to download? What are my options? Scan through the inventory of your thought pictures and select what you want to delete, what you want to keep, what you want to enlarge, what you want to reframe, what you want to edit, and what new pictures you want to take. This is the time to lead with your heart and be honest with yourself. This may also be a time that you want to reinvent yourself and buy a brand new spirit camera. Each spirit camera has a particular set of needs, one size does not fit all. You are worthy of a high quality digital spirit camera and it is your divine right to take as many positive thought pictures that you want.

Some astrological information says that this cosmic doorway of insight opens at 11:11 AM and the star gate closes at 11:11 PM. I look at it as an entire 24 hour day to manifest who we want to be and what we want in our lives. How lucky are we? The Universe has given us the gift of this magical time to consciously spend some quiet time in meditation, prayer, journaling, and nature to connect with our inner wisdom.

Some ideas on how to spend the day: walk a labyrinth, listen to joyful music, listen to a guided meditation CD, dance with your spirit, watch the movie "You Can Heal Your Life", read inspirational books, create or revise a vision board, have an oracle/tarot card reading, take a yoga class, look at a photo album, eat a vegetarian or vegan diet, step out of your comfort box and try something new, take a bath, light candles, get a Reiki treatment, watch for synchronistic events, host a Manifesting Gathering, claim the day as a no talking, no TV, and/or no computer day, observe the animals/birds that show up, watch for repetitive numbers, visit a church, get in touch with your inner child through playtime, read & scatter Louise Hay's Power Thought and Wisdom affirmation cards throughout your environments, write in your gratitude journal, start a dream journal, have an Akashic Records consultation, take a flower essence, create a crystal grid, burn an essential oil, draw and smell a flower, tune up with tuning forks, breathe a little bit more, take a magic carpet ride to your inner universe, and simply spend quiet time with yourself. According to Dr. Christiane Northrup, we know that every time we change a thought and we change our perspective, we are actually changing the biochemistry of our body. These changes are instantaneous. Simply by changing our thoughts and perspective, there is a shift in our biochemistry which will change our immunity, change our neurotransmitters, and change our body chemistry instantaneously.

Connectivity with the Spring Equinox and the Dust Storm

September 23^rd marks the Spring Equinox here in the southern hemisphere. This celebrates the coming of Spring- a day of balance and harmony in the world (Fall Equinox in the northern hemisphere) and for us here in Australia, tipping over to more “light”. It is the dawning of new energies and with the New Moon in Virgo on Saturday, September 19^th, the time to “manifest your true heart’s desires”. So on the day of the Spring Equinox, we have an historic dust storm that spread, and is still spreading, throughout Australia. What is the message that we are to receive? Mother Nature clearly has sent us a message and it is up to us to receive it. The first thing that came to mind is the song “Pick Yourself Up” from the 1938 movie Swing Time starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. The lines of the song that sing out to me begin with Fred asking Ginger “Please teacher, teach me something”. What is it that we need to learn at this time in our lives? Who are the teachers and healers out there that we can connect with to help restore our body, mind, and spirit back to perfect health? Can I connect with my higher self and be my own self healer to be in harmonic balance? Of course the famous lines, “Take a deep breath, Pick yourself up, Dust yourself off, Start all over again”. Is there any better advice than that at this time? Connectivity

In June I celebrated my first anniversary of living here in Australia. This has been a year of working at grounding my energies with the natural beauty of the land, animals, and water in my own Aussie backyard . I have worked at remaining connected with family and friends while creating new relationships with Australians and Expat Americans and Canadians. My dream was to spend more time with my husband, Denny, and I also had the luck of having our son Giles join us here as well. In December Giles helped me to create this blog site and continued to encourage me to write. I struggled with this until I found the right subject that inspired me.

While spending this week in Perth, I was fortunate to discover an art exhibition by young artists at St. George's Cathedral entitled "Connectivity". To begin with, it reminded me of why I loved working with adolescents so much- it is their zest and honest look at life. Which led me to look honestly at my "connectivity" at this time in my life. The dictionary definition is: the quality or condition of being connected or connective. Now on to the definition of "connect": to join, link, or fasten together; unite or bind; to establish successful communication between; to make contact; to have as an accompanying or associated feature; and to associate mentally or emotionally. This one I especially love: to relate to or be in harmony with another person.
